PaintSmart-Trayz

Inventor

Carolyn Keane

Country

USA

Description

After dropping the brush several times from high up on a ladder, I figured there had to be a better way, so I created the PaintSmart-Trayz.It is a vertically hanging paint tray that holds 2 brushes & a 9" roller. It has a drain spout for pouring excess paint back into cans.Rinse it out, replace cap and hang your tools to dry. They drip into the tray instead of on the floor. The deep well means less spills and spatters. It is made of sturdy plastic and won't rust.Cuts painting and clean up time in half. Sturdy enough for a man but light enough for a woman. Work smarter, not harder.

Now that’s an idea. I think that I saw something similar on Dragon’s Den though. What would the price point be as well? May be to expensive for mass marketing…

This will also help with safety. I can remember (20 years ago) painting the outside of my very tall house. This would have saved me some serious gray hairs (I have those at present).

I bought this for my Dad and just in time for his house painting.

Leave it up to a woman to redesign a smarter tool! These trays are AWESOME! I’ve used mine several times.

@ThomasSurthz – They are incredibly affordable and easily priced for mass marketing. Especially since they last a long time whereas the horizontal trays can’t be used as often since they don’t clean as well.

Patrice said on Tuesday, December 14, 2010:

I love this product. It stays on the ladder even when I move the ladder. It saves going up and down and is very easy to clean. I use it all the time. It does not rust and the vertical design allows me to store it away neatly instead of taken up lots of horizontal space.

I could have used this last weekend when my wife decided to paint a one foot patch of wall an aweful flamingo pink. Needless to say I ended up painting the rest of the bathroom (a different color) and with 10’ ceilings, I made many trips up and down the ladder. I’m getting one!!! Cool invention.

Cynthia said on Friday, December 17, 2010:

Love, love, love it!! Especially the drain spout so you don’t waste any paint. Also makes it so easy to use on any ladder. The female invetor is just the icing on the cake – you go Girl!

This is a great idea. My husband does allthe painting but I usually end up helping with the clean up. This makes it much easier and preserves your equipment.

Wayne said on Tuesday, December 21, 2010:

This is such a great paint tray. I do home remodeling and I use it all the time. It holds twise the amount of paint then the store bought one. Its so handie having the carry handle to go up and down the ladder. If you have ever climed a ladder and dropped your paint tray on the way up? Get yourself one of these trays and you will agree this is the best paint tray out there.

Julia said on Tuesday, December 21, 2010:
